Antenex (Diazepam)

Antenex is a medication used to manage anxiety, relieve muscle spasms, treat acute alcohol withdrawal, and prevent seizures. Relief of reflex muscle spasm due to local trauma like injury, inflammation to muscles, bones and joints. It works by calming the central nervous system but carries a risk of dependence, making it suitable for short-term use. Amplifies the effects of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain that promotes relaxation and reduces overactivity. It contains the active ingredient diazepam, which belongs to a group of medicines called benzodiazepines. Enhances the activity of a neurotransmitter in the brain called GABA, which produces a calming, sedative effect. These medicines are thought to work by their action on brain chemicals.

Takes effect rapidly; muscle spasms and seizure relief can begin within 10 to 15 minutes, while anxiety relief takes a few hours. Can be taken with or without water, but should not be combined with alcohol or opioids as this can cause severe, life-threatening sedation and breathing difficulties. As this can lead to extreme drowsiness, severely slowed breathing, and potentially fatal overdose. Recommended as the only treatment for severe mental illnesses and should not be used alone to treat depression. Use caution when driving or operating machinery until you know how the medication affects you. Drowsiness, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination, and muscle weakness. Stopping the medication abruptly after long-term use can trigger severe withdrawal symptoms like agitation, confusion, and seizures
